Key Technical Foundations 

  1. Unified Architecture with Modular Intelligence

At its core, the RackWare Platform is powered by State Managers—intelligent, Finite State Machine (FSM)-driven engines that orchestrate every operation. These engines:

  • Manage complex, asynchronous events with precision and predictability 

  • Understand context, handle errors gracefully, and drive recovery workflows 

  • Enable granular control of automation flows across all supported use cases

​

Layered above the State Managers are modular functional components:

 

  • Policy Engine: Governs compliance, protection, and orchestration behavior 

  • Provisioning & Booting Modules: Automate system instantiation and boot processes across clouds 

  • All communication and operations occur over a queued, message-based system, ensuring scalability, transparency, and observability. 

2. Client Services

Each task within the platform is executed via discrete, purpose-built Client Services, which are: Spawned by the FSMs to handle specific operations (e.g., replication, snapshot, cutover) Isolated and cohesive, enabling safe parallelism and minimal resource contention Reporting status and telemetry back to the State Managers for real-time orchestration

3. Interface Packages

Importantly, the interface packages complete the architecture. These are interface modules that allow the Platform to interact with other infrastructure, such as Clouds, Hypervisors, and Storage. Additionally, the architecture supports multiple Sync Engines to accommodate different needs.
