RackWare for GKE Training

APAC Session
20 November 2025
10:00am SGT (UTC+8)

Unlock the full potential of RackWare for Google Cloud, with a focus on Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).

This hands-on technical training equips Google Cloud engineers, architects, and delivery partners with the skills to deliver seamless migration, disaster recovery, and data mobility for containerized workloads into or across GKE clusters.

What You Will Learn

Key Use Cases

  • Container Migration - Move workloads from on-premises or third-party Kubernetes clusters into GKE with minimal downtime.

  • Disaster Recovery for GKE - Implement continuous synchronization, failover, and fallback between GKE regions and clusters using RackWare.

  • Backup & Repatriation - Protect GKE workloads with point-in-time backup and enable reverse mobility to on-prem or alternate clouds.

  • Multi-Cloud Kubernetes Mobility: Enable cross-cloud container portability (e.g. AKS ↔ GKE ↔ EKS).

Platform Coverage

Gain practical experience deploying RackWare to migrate and protect workloads across:

  • Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE)

  • Google Compute Engine (GCE)

  • Google Cloud VMware Engine (GCVE)

  • Google Distributed Cloud (GDC)

  • Anthos / Hybrid Kubernetes environments

Hands-On Technical Skills

Develop end-to-end expertise with RackWare deployment and configuration for GKE workloads:

  1. Installation & Setup - Deploy RackWare in Google Cloud with service account creation, IAM integration, and API access configuration.

  2. Source Environment Preparation - Discover and capture container sources from on-premises or other Kubernetes clusters.

  3. GKE Target Configuration - Configure target GKE clusters, namespaces, networking, and persistent volumes for migration or DR targets.

  4. Cluster-Level Replication - Define and manage replication policies, namespace mappings, and incremental sync schedules for continuous protection.

  5. Wave Planning & Execution - Perform phased migrations and DR cutovers to minimize downtime and validate resiliency.

  6. Automation & Policy Management - Build reusable templates for DR, backup, and sync workflows tailored for GKE environments.

  7. Advanced Features - Leverage RackWare’s dependency mapping, automated DR testing, and multi-region orchestration to enhance GKE workload resilience.
