This technical training is dedicated to the full breadth of disaster recovery and backup on the RackWare platform, from RPO policy fundamentals through advanced snapshot management and recovery operations. Designed for engineers and architects responsible for enterprise resilience and business continuity. Audience questions will be addressed in real time by RackWare staff.

What You Will Learn
Platform & DR Fundamentals
  • RackWare disaster recovery and backup licensing models
  • RackWare engine deployment for DR
  • Network topology including same-IP/subnet support for failover targets

Source Preparation for DR
  • Storage requirements for LVM snapshots on Linux and VSS shadow copies on Windows
  • Antivirus exclusions and permission sets required for reliable sync cycles

Storage & Snapshot Management
  • Sizing storage for source snapshots to prevent sync bottlenecks
  • LVM snapshot mechanics (Linux) and VSS shadow copy mechanics (Windows)
  • Snapshot-related diagnostic commands.

DR Policy Architecture
  • Configuring RPO-based sync policies
  • Backup and retention policy design (hourly/daily snapshot schedules)
  • Pre-provisioned vs. dynamically provisioned failover targets
  • Aligning RPO/RTO policy to SLA requirements

Failover & Recovery Operations
Non-disruptive DR testing
Granular file-level and full-host restore from point-in-time snapshots
