RackWare Solutions for AutoScaling

Dynamic, Automatic Scaling of Resources

RackWare Management Module (RMM) AutoScaling delivers automatic scaling for Datacenters, and both private and public clouds. RMM AutoScaling provides server resources on demand and is based on real-time metrics of load and performance indicators. Groups of Hosts can be defined with operational parameters that influence when Hosts are activated and deactivated to meet these fluctuating demands.   Deactivated Hosts that run in the cloud are placed into the most economical state (parked) while still allowing for quick and efficient activation when needed, thereby optimizing cost and maintaining responsiveness.  The RMM monitors Hosts during the activation process, and in the event of any issue would simply go through the selection process to bring the next available resource online.  Other tuning parameters, such as “minimum” and “maximum” provide more refined policy influence on resource levels.

Powerful AutoScaling Features

  • ScaleOut and ScaleIn operations are "triggered" either RMM Monitoring or external data from Load Balancers or Application Monitors.
  • Autoscaling groups may be specified by minimum and maximum number of Hosts
  • Prioritization of resources allocation    allows for customized resource distribution such as tiered or striped allocation
  • Coordination with other infrastructure as hosts are powered on and off
